Our Organization

   The Ladies’ Tea Guild was established in the spring of 2001 with the intent of providing an oasis for women who have a passion for the cultural history of the 19th and early 20th century and a love of tea in all its dimensions.

   Our mission is to:

  • Through our monthly events, educate our members about the cultural history of the years spanning 1800 through 1940.
  • Research the etiquette, customs, and culture, of our time frame;
  • Hostess unique and interesting Tea Guild and social events where our members have the opportunity, should they so desire, to dress up in their favorite vintage or reproduction clothing;
  • Through our events and social Tea Guild gatherings, create a community of like-minded women who understand the importance of sharing and helping one another; and
  • Create endless opportunities for fun, laughter, and knowledge.

   Local chapter directors publish their own quarterly newsletter entitled The Tea Times. This publication focuses on local events and activities, each chapter publishing a unique version of the same newsletter. The local chapters also hostess quarterly teas and other events, such as tea tastings, millinery workshops, and lectures.

   Local membership includes the opportunity to attend all events presented by both your chapter as well as the chapter events of any Ladies’ Tea Guild chapter, a subscription to The Tea Times, and a copy of our booklet Practical Help. The cost of a local membership is $28.00.

What We Ask of Our Members

   We ask that you pay your dues punctually and in full. You will receive a reminder notice you're your renewal date draws near.

   Should your mailing address change, we also ask that you notify us so we may update our records.

   Members should plan to attend all teas dressed in appropriate attire so that the teas and socials are presented with a certain degree of elegance. While dressing in vintage fashion is not required, we do ask that a skirt or dress and a hat be considered.

   Of course, your biggest responsibility is to enjoy yourself and have fun!

The Ladies' Tea Guild reserves the right to limit and/or restrict membership.
