About Our National Director

Denise Hendrick has been the Director of the Puget Sound Chapter of
The Ladies' Tea Guild since 2003, and
has been a member since the Guild's inception in 2001. With a deep and
abiding love for both tea and historic clothing, starting a chapter of
her own seemed an obvious next step. Her favorite tea event was an
Edward Gorey tea that featured Gorey’s artwork, black and white food,
and one outrageous hat inspired by one of his drawings.
Denise also enjoys gardening, reading, cooking, entertaining, and
researching new projects and interests. She dabbles in a few Victorian
past times, including heirloom sewing, lace making, ribbon flowers and
embroidery, and Spencerian penmanship. She would someday like to
include vintage dance and antique photography among her hobbies.
Denise’s love for historic fashion inspired her to open
Romantic Recollections, which
specializes in reproduction and historically-inspired clothing,
millinery, and corsets. Her interests include historic costuming between
1400 and 1915, with a particular emphasis on Renaissance and late
Victorian styles. As time goes on, each era captures her interest with
its own special charm, and she looks forward to exploring them all. |
