The
Simple Rosy Centerpiece
A Lady
Montana Design
Materials
old bread pan
3-5 very full silk roses w/ leaves
dried moss
5 yards of 1" wide wired ribbon
needle & thread to match ribbon
acrylic paint - 2
contrasting colors*
Quik Crackle
Modge Podge or spray sealer
brush
hot glue gun
*Your first coat of paint,
which is your base coat, will only show through the cracks. The second
coat of contrasting paint is the one which will crackle and be your main
color.
Directions
1. Apply a base coat of
desired acrylic paint to the outside of the bread pan and let dry.
2. Brush an even coat of Quik
Crackle over your base paint and let dry 20 minutes to 1-hour. Wash your
brush immediately.
3. Brush on your contrasting
color. It will crackle in seconds. Let dry completely before
sealing with Modge Podge or a spray on sealer.
4. Use the hot glue gun to
cover the bottom of the bread pan with the dried moss. Let the moss
extend beyond the edges a little bit.
5. Arrange your flowers in a
row on top of the moss and hot glue in place - gluing at the flower's
center base only so you can tuck the leaves under the petals.
6. Arrange the leaves so that
they appeared to be tucked under the roses and are extending out and
downward. Hot glue in place.
7. Hand baste a line of
stitching down the center length of your ribbon. Pull up on the thread
until the ribbon length equals the distance around the rim of the bread
pan. Knot your thread and cut. Turn under each end of the ribbon. Hot
glue the ribbon to the rim of the bread pan.
Note: 2-3 of these lined down the center of a table
is most lovely. To read about other simple
